About Aubrey Stewart

Aubrey Stewart is a PhD candidate at the Florida International University (FIU) in the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Public Affairs through the US State Department's Fulbright Scholarship. Aubrey's research interests revolve around collaborative governance, citizen security, performance management, and social economics. His focus areas include topics such as leadership, performance data utilization, social investment, e-governance, and community safety and security.

Before joining FIU as a graduate student, Aubrey worked as a Data Scientist and Research Fellow in the Ministry of National Security and the Office of the Prime Minister in Jamaica. He has a strong background in community mobilization and development, and his years of dedicated community service have been recognized through various awards. In 2018, he received the Queen's Young Leader Award for Community Development from Her Majesty the Queen of England. This prestigious award acknowledges exceptional young leaders worldwide who have demonstrated exemplary community leadership and have utilized their skills to bring about transformative change in people's lives. In addition to this, Aubrey has also been honored with the Governor General and Prime Minister's Youth Awards for Excellence in Leadership in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

Aubrey's academic journey includes a master's degree in Comparative Politics and Political Theory, as well as a bachelor’s degree in political leadership, Strategy, and Management. He has also pursued professional development certifications from the University of the West Indies, Mona, and the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

Aubrey's guiding principle in life is inspired by the words of Marcus Garvey: "There is no height to which we cannot climb by using the active intelligence of our minds." This quote reflects his belief in the power of knowledge and intelligence to overcome obstacles and achieve great things.
